Twitter and Social Marketing: The Perfect Combination

October 13th, 2009

Ever since MySpace was invented, highly technological entrepreneurs are doing everything they can to think of the next big marketing idea. Some ideas have failed, others, however, have done well and have become not only great social applications, but excellent social marketing tools. Twitter, for instance, is one amazing social networking tool that has become extremely popular and that has huge potential in the social marketing world.

Setting It Up

In order to effectively use a twitter account for social marketing, it is vital that you set up your Twitter profile correctly. If you don’t, you could be taken for a spammer, which will not gain you any favors in the Twitter world. Make sure you put your real name in the username space, and not your businesses name. You can promote your business better in the Bio section. Next, make sure your web address is written correctly in the web section. Also, make sure that you put your company’s location. Having a real location is a great way to begin a connection with your potential Twitter followers.

Your profile picture is also important to consider. If you want to be very sociable, you can put a headshot of you in the picture. Many businesses, however, use their company’s logo. Make sure that the logo looks good and is recognizable when it’s minimized so that your followers will know that it’s you when you post a Tweet.

Conversations

In order to effectively use Twitter, you need to engage in conversations and to have some friends. The best way to find friends for your business on Twitter is to look first to actual people you know. Befriend them and then you can start looking to their friends. This spirals out quickly and will give you a number of followers in a fairly short amount of time.

In order to keep these followers, and to gain more, make sure that you are using your 140 characters correctly. In some cases you only have one tweet to gain the attention of your followers, so make it a good one. If you’re talking about products, include shortened links to that product, and try to keep your tweets as fun to read as possible. You can especially garner a great deal of attention if you start having giveaways or contests via your Twitter account, as this allows your readers to connect to you and to get something in the bargain.

What Is Important For Your Company’s Website Design?

June 29th, 2009

When you’re getting a website created for your company, it is vital that you know what is important for your design and what isn’t. One thing that many company owners forget is that what is vital for their company isn’t just what they want to have on the site, but what will make the client or customer who is visiting the site comfortable as well. Here are a few tips and things to remember when you’re getting your website design ready.

  1. Make the colors friendly. If your website has colors on it that just don’t mix well together, your customer or client will click away from your site as fast as possible, or will wind up with a splitting headache that will definitely make them remember your company, but not in a good way. You should always make sure that you choose colors which work well together, and that any web site design company you hire knows this vital color rule.
  2. Make it easy to navigate! If people who are visiting your blog can’t find what they’re looking for, they’ll give up on your site and may go to a competitors. This is why it is very important that you make sure the site is easy to navigate, which can be accomplished thanks to good website design. Dallas design companies should work with you in order to get the design to be not only something you enjoy, but also something that is easy for visitors to maneuver through.
  3. Put interesting things there. If your site is boring, your customers or clients may wander off to play another game of internet chess or to check their Facebook account. Make sure that you and your website design company work together to get some interesting content on your site so that you can keep their interest.
  4. Have fun with it! If you don’t have a bit of fun working with a website designer to make your site, it will likely show. Try to relax and to have a little fun with helping to create your site. All of the hard work is being done by the website designer, and all you have to do is to work with them, giving them information that can help them to create a site that you enjoy. By the time they are done you should have a site that you not only love to look at, but that your customers or clients will love to look at as well.

A Digital Checklist for Website Design

June 29th, 2009

You’ve finally decided that it’s time to involve a professional website design company so that your website can become all that you want it to be. You’ve even found a company that is affordable and whose work you truly enjoy. But now you’re at a bit of a loss. You have tons of ideas but you’re not really sure where you should start! A good web site design company should help by walking you through the steps, but there are some things that you can think about or have prepared in order to make the process go smoothly.

  • What’s your main objective? Before you can have a website created, you should know what your main objective for that site is. For instance, are you trying to give information out to the public, or are you trying to sell something? Are you trying to sell goods or are you trying to sell your services? Every website has a different purpose, and knowing what you want your website for will make it easier for the design team to come up with something that perfectly suits your needs.
  • Do you have special colors? Some companies have special colors that they associate as being their own. Some may have blue and silver, or they may have gold and white. If you have colors that you connect with your company you may want to have them brought over onto your website.
  • Get your personal information ready. When you’ve got a website you will want to have contact information available on that site. This way your clients or customers can discover how to contact you easily through the site. Would you like to make things run more smoothly for the company you’ve chosen for your website design? Dallas website design companies appreciate when you’ve got your personal information ready and in order, so that they do not have to keep contacting you asking for it.
  • Don’t be afraid to speak up! If, when you take a look at the test site you see something you don’t like, speak up! Any company would be much happier if you spoke up before the design was finalized, as it is much easier to change things to suit your needs before the site is completely finished than after.

Getting your website designed should be not only a necessity, but something that is enjoyable as well, and
the better prepared you are, the easier it is to have your site be finished quickly and to your liking.
